The Sour Dough Starter

Feeding And Using The Sour Dough Starter

If you already have a sourdough starter, this is how you feed it before using it.

To feed and use the starter, remove it from the fridge and add ⅓ cup of bread flour and ⅓ cup of water, mixing it up nicely. Let sit on the counter. When a drop of the starter floats in water, it is ready to use.

When not in use, let sit in the fridge. Ideally, feed and use every 1-2 weeks, but I was told you can go two months without feeding if left in the fridge.
