J. Lohr Estates - 2001 Riverstone Chardonnay

J. Lohr Vienyards and Wine

I have to admit that I probably do not drink Chardonnay often enough but every so often I crack a bottle open. This specific bottle I got from some good friends of mine Janet and Alan a few years ago. It is a J. Lohr Estates 2001 Riverstone Chardonnay. To say the least it was fantastic. Check out the details on this wine  J. Lohr Riverstone Wines

Grapes on the wine
Grapes on the wine
Jerry Lohr started planting grapes in the 1960's in California in areas such as, Arroyo Seco appellation of Monterey County, San Jose, Paso Robles.

In 1988, Jerry began expansion of his vineyards in the Arroyo Seco, which now includes 900 acres of Chardonnay.

Other cool climate varietals such as Riesling ValdiguiƩ and in recent years Pinot Noir. The J. Lohr vineyards now comprises over 3,000 acres.

This chardonnay is best described by Jerry Lohr "This wine has aromas of grapefruit and nectarine with layers or rich, complex flavours to accompany seafood and cream-sauce dishes"

We had this lovely Chardonnay with BBQ'd Salmon and Sesame Thai prawns..... it was wonderful.

It would also go wonderful with Friday Night Chicken. Let me know what you pair it with.

Kiss the cook,

Anders
